The first thing I tell every recruit

This isn't normal.

I say it to every guy who asks about door to door. My first year wasn't normal. My team wasn't normal either.

Door to door is hard, and a lot of guys quit early. I put my numbers on this page so you can see what training and work can do. None of it was handed to me. I built it one door at a time.

Victims focus too much on the past. Survivors focus too much on the future and wait for things to get better. Conquerors learn from the past, borrow from the future, and act in the present.

Built, not given.

Past the doors

Four things I build on

Faith

God is my foundation. I give Him credit in success and lean on Him when results go down.

Health

People trade their health for money, then trade the money back for health. I'm building both at once.

Relationships

My family and close friends are what I refuse to lose, so I show up, hide nothing, and drop everything when they need me.

Finances

Earn it, then invest it. I'm building long-term wealth, not just a big summer check.

Don't get rich in one and bankrupt in three.

The standard

CONQUER: how we operate

Each letter is a standard for the team. It isn't about conquering other people. It's about conquering yourself: the excuse, the fear, the broken promise, the urge to quit when it gets hard.

  • C
    Choose Your Hard
Discipline is hard. Regret is hard. Being broke is hard. You don't get to avoid hard, you just get to choose which one.
  • O
    Own Everything
Your effort, your attitude, your mistakes, your results. Some excuses are true. Own the response anyway.
  • N
    Next Door
Bad pitch, lost sale, rough morning. Don't let the last door steal the next one.
  • Q
    Quit Negotiating With Yourself
Once you decide, stop reopening it just because it got uncomfortable. If you said 1:00, it's 1:00.
  • U
    Uphold Your Word
To customers, teammates, and yourself. Do what you say, when you say. Never promise what you can’t deliver, and never close a deal you couldn’t defend in daylight.
  • E
    Earn Your Confidence
Confidence comes from evidence. Keep enough promises to yourself and you start trusting yourself.
  • R
    Raise The Room
In the car, at the house, in the meeting, you’re either raising the room or draining it. Never win by tearing someone down.

Questions guys ask

Who is Max Ericksen?

Max Ericksen is a door-to-door pest control sales rep and team leader from Utah. In his first summer of door-to-door sales, in 2026, he did $280K in serviced revenue, and he and his team finished at $1.0M in team revenue. His team sold in the Sacramento, California area. Before that he served a two-year mission. He now recruits and trains young guys in their 20s for summer door-to-door sales.

Do I need sales experience to sell door to door?

No. Max had never sold door to door before summer 2026. What matters is showing up, keeping your word, and being coachable. The skill gets built on the doors.

How much do door-to-door pest control reps make?

It varies a lot, and most people who try door-to-door sales make far less than the top reps. Pay is mostly commission, so it depends on your effort, skill and territory. The numbers on this site are sales revenue, not take-home pay. Ask about the actual pay plan before you commit.

Is summer sales a good job after a mission?

For a lot of returned missionaries, yes. The rhythm is familiar: knocking doors, rejection, daily goals, and working when you don't feel like it. Max came home and knocked his first summer back.

What makes Max's team different?

You're surrounded by top performers who are close to you in age and experience, so you can see what's possible. Add real training, a clear standard, and a team that treats each other like family. In 2026, the median rookie on the team who finished the season did $236K in serviced revenue.

What is the CONQUER standard?

CONQUER is the team's standard: Choose your hard, Own everything, Next door, Quit negotiating with yourself, Uphold your word, Earn your confidence, Raise the room. It comes from Rob Sperry's book The Game of Conquering. The idea is to conquer yourself, not other people.
